Pocket diapers are great for those who want to customize absorbency, especially with multiple babies in diapers that need different inserts! Pockets are just the "shell" of the diaper, it does not have any absorbent materials sewn in. Inserts must be stuffed into the pocket, and removed when it's time to wash again. Usually just 1 insert is sufficient while baby is newborn to 6 months old, then upgrading to 2 inserts as baby grows and begins eating & drinking more. Pockets do have waterproof PUL on the outside, so no extra cover is needed!
Inserts can be purchased under our "insert" section. Details of all materials can be found there, as well as a comparison on absorbency.
